Our Philosophy of Care

At Arroyo Hospice, care begins with understanding. Every patient’s journey is unique, and our approach reflects that.

We focus on comfort, quality of life, and emotional wellbeing. Our care plans are designed to support physical needs while also addressing emotional and spiritual comfort. Families are included as partners in care, not observers.

We believe that meaningful moments matter. Our role is to help create space for peace, connection, and reassurance throughout the hospice journey.

HOSPICE MYTHS & FACTS

Hospice means I cannot see my doctor anymore.

Medicare allows you to continue seeing your primary doctor for anything unrelated to your hospice diagnosis. Your care remains collaborative and centered around your needs.

Hospice means I am going to die.

Hospice means you have an illness that cannot be cured. The hospice team works with you and your family to create a plan of care that is right for you and adjusts as your needs change.

Hospice means my family and my doctor are giving up on me.

Just the opposite. Hospice puts a plan in place to support you now and in the future. The focus is on comfort, dignity, and making sure your needs are met.

Hospice will give me strong medications to end my life faster.

Medications are provided only when needed and always with the consent of the patient or family. The goal is comfort and symptom relief, not to hasten life.
